Easter Weekend 2014

A couple of weeks ago it was decided that we were NOT having a Good Friday service at church (gasp!!)–(I thought, for sure, we were going to H-E-__-__ b/c our Baptist church wasn’t having a Good Friday service)! Anyway….because we weren’t having a service on Good Friday (and neither one of us had to work) we knew we wanted to go somewhere. We threw around the idea of going to Enchanted Rock or San Antonio or maybe even Hamilton just to see Paul’s parents/sister. Paul called his dad to see if they would be home, but they were going to New Braunfels for the weekend. So, we tagged along! We hit MAJOR traffic between New Braunfels and Gruene–a two-lane highway with lots of construction!! 😦

It was Susan’s birthday, so we tagged along and helped celebrate! I feel really bad that we didn’t take any pictures of the birthday girl, except this one!! We ate at the Grismill in Gruene–it was really yummy!

On Friday we went to the Conservation Historical Society and took a little tour of the “German town”–it was nice. Then, after lunch with Paul’s aunt Mary and his cousin, April, we went to the Natural Wildlife Ranch, outside of New Braunfels.

CAM03110I was sitting in the 3rd row, so I wasn’t able to get too many close-up pictures or feed the animals–but it was fun!

We were going to go to the Natural Bridge Caverns, as well, but we ran out of time!! Maybe another day!!

We came home on Friday night and celebrated Easter today at church.

After a whole bunch of “outfit DRAMA” here’s our Easter picture for this year!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!

I’ve been looking for shoes off/on all week–I didn’t want anything wild and crazy, just simple and cheap!! And, I found them….last night at Wal-Mart for less than $10!!

Now, on to Sunday afternoon naps!! We don’t have church tonight (Ya-Hoo)!!, so we can R-E-L-A-X today with no nap alarm clock!!

Happy Anniversary (A Month or so Early)

Every year Paul and I have gone to a baseball game for our anniversary (maybe not exactly ON our anniversary, but close)….it’s just a little something we started and have continued throughout the years!

Money was not “in the cards” that year to go to a “professional game” so we just went to a Little League game, instead.

8th Anniversary, 2014:

Houston Astros game (a month early)

I’m not sure we’ll get to go to another game next month, closer to our actual anniversary date, so this one counted as our anniversary “game”

Paul told me to wear blue and orange, so I wore an orange scarf with a blue/white shirt and he was decked out in his Astros jersey and his cap.

Paul got tickets on the VERY TOP ROW of the stadium!!!

Yes, that is a wall DIRECTLY BEHIND US because we were on the TOP ROW!! They were great seats, but it was a LONG walk up 4 flights of stairs!

We had a great time, celebrating, a month early!

Happy Anniversary! I love you, Paul!
