We’ve been to Matthiessen State Park several times since we’ve lived here…

And, we went again today….
Paul and I had a day of hiking and grilling out….we had a great time….
Paul packing the car with everything to grill out (we had steak and hot dogs)
the Grill Master
me patiently waiting to eat
When we go to Matthiessen, I like to go hiking “down below” and get up close and personal with the waterfalls….well, Paul doesn’t really like to do that, so we just stayed on the top….it was still really nice, and I think my feet probably thanked me b/c they didn’t get quite as muddy as they would’ve down below. And, from what we saw, you can’t even get close to the waterfalls b/c the trails have been washed away….
one of the trails completely washed away by the waterfalls; all you can see is a lone bridge

Paul and the waterfall (it was really raining at this point)
And, of course, we stopped at the Root Beer Stand in Oglesby on the way home….
(Why I wanted to eat ice cream after we had been hiking in the rain, I don’t know)….

Thank you, honey, for a day out….
I’ve gone 10 days without posting anything….I feel bad, but I don’t really now what to say….
We go to church….
Paul plays his guitar….
And, we rinse and repeat….that’s pretty much what’s going on lately….
Camp season will start on June 3rd….so, here’s to about 9 more days of freedom!!

May 13, 2006…..5 years ago! Happy Anniversary, My Love!
Our 5th anniversary is coming up on Friday, May 13th. We both have to work this coming weekend, so we decided to celebrate early….
Every year we go to a baseball game….
Here is our 1st anniversary:
Here’s our 2nd anniversary:
Here’s our 3rd anniversary:
Here’s our 4th anniversary: (I forgot my camera at the game, so I just took a picture of our tickets)
And here’s our 5th anniversary:
Here are some more pictures from today:
The Chiefs in the field
The dancing corn stalks
Every time the Chiefs score, they have dancing corn stalks that come out on to the outfield and dance….only in the Midwest do you see dancing corn at a baseball game!
In Abilene they have sno-cone stands everywhere…here, not so much. But, Paul found a “Shaved Ice” stand at the baseball game….it was YUMMY!!
Happy Anniversary, Honey! I love you!

We had our Great Oaks Annual Banquet on Sunday. These are pictures of some of our friends that came. Our camera died at the end, so I didn’t get pictures of everyone….
But, thanks for EVERYONE! for coming!
