Part Two of the Move

On Saturday, November 1st, because we were in Temple, we picked up the Penske truck there. We drove it back to Giddings and started loading. (Mike and Donna came, too, along with a deacon from our church, so that helped a ton)!

We started packing at 12:50PM!!!

We were done by 2:00PM!

Ready to go!

Ready to go!

(We don’t own a lot of stuff, but there was a moment or two when we thought all of our stuff was not going to fit)!! It all stayed in and nothing broke, which was great!!!

My hero!!

My hero!!

This guy was my hero!! He drove the WHOLE WAY the FIRST time we went and then 7 days later he drove another 1,000 miles in the Penske truck!!

All ready to go!!

All ready to go!!

We arrived at camp at 3:00PM on Monday, the 3rd, and by 4:00 it was completely unpacked! Shannon came down with the kids to say hello, and the only thing left was the couch!! Andi and Ethan said they could get it!! (He, he, he)!!

Mark and Nikki moved out on the 31st and for three days they “spruced up” the place. Some of our friends from CCC came over and helped paint (a complete surprise to me, although Paul knew about it), Jim replaced carpet in three of the rooms, and they put new flooring in the master bathroom! It’s like a brand-new house!! 🙂

I went into an unpacking frenzy, and I’m glad to say that our entire house is unpacked and “in place.” It looks like a home!!

(Back story to the curtains. I have had the same green curtains for 9 years–they have fit in EVERY house we’ve lived in, so I never bothered to get new ones. But, my mom told me I needed to get new ones. So, I bought new ones for the living room (and put the green curtains in the back room)!!

The kitchen pretty much looks the same. They do have a new stove/oven, which is nice. Our old one didn’t shut, so we had “bungee-cord” it to the cabinet to keep it closed!

The back bedroom (which is the master bedroom) is our office. We sleep in another room. So, it’s all set up with the desk, the couch, and hopefully by next week the TV (to watch DVD’s/Netflix on).

It’s hard to see, but they put new flooring in the master bedroom (the glass door in the picture above leads to the master bathroom)–it’s a dark wood, and I really like it!

I haven’t taken a picture of the living room yet because I was waiting to put the other curtain up.

This is our bedroom. It is one of the “little bedrooms” at the opposite end of the trailer, away from the “master bedroom”–all we do is sleep in the bedroom, so we didn’t need a BIG room….it has a bed and a small table for a nightstand. That’s it….

So, that’s pretty much the move and the house….all wrapped up into one!

We’re excited to be back–Paul gets along so well with Tyler, Jim, and Graham that, as a wife, it is such a blessing to see them all together! And, of course, I’m excited to be back with Shannon and Ember!!
