Last week, spur of the moment, we decided we wanted to go to a Round Rock Express game. Mom sent me an e-mail that they were having their first “Baylor Alumni” night at Dell Diamond, and if you used a specific “code” (and were a Baylor alumni) you could get a discounted ticket price. So, I hopped online and ordered tickets for this past Thursday.
Because it was “Baylor Alumni” night Bryce Petty was throwing out the first pitch…..we got there just in time!
Bryce threw the pitch to Clay Fuller, another member of the Baylor football team. Right after Clay caught it he walked over to his girlfriend, Mackenzie Robertson (Coach Mulkey’s daughter), and proposed to her. The ball said, “Will you marry me?” So….that was pretty cute to watch! 🙂
While we were there they had a “GET LOUD!” little game where the mascot “Spike” launched t-shirts into the “loudest” section of the stadium. Well, Paul and I certainly were NOT being loud, but he caught a t-shirt, nonetheless!
We had a good time–it was a LONG game! We left at the 7th inning stretch, after the game had been going on for about 2 1/2 hours!! We needed to get home because we went to College Station on Friday.
Another funny thing from Thursday. Before we went to Round Rock on Thursday night we went to Austin on Thursday for lunch. Long story but we have some friends (from Arkansas) who were doing the music at Highland Lakes Camp (Pre-Teen Camp), so we met them for lunch. On Hwy. 290 there is a giant squirrel statue on the side of the road. We had some time, so we stopped and took a picture!
So, that was a fun trip!
